This product is administered by intravenously (IV) or intramuscularly (IM). IM injection usually will be slightly painful.
Because water-soluble B vitamins are eliminated in the urine, taking large doses of certain B vitamins may produce transient effects. The side effects are pretty rare. There is some reports of anaphylaxis caused by high-dose thiamine injections into the vein or muscle. Some also reports the development of acne-like rash.
